Jujube Fructus (大枣) is the dried ripe fruit of Ziziphus jujuba Mill., family Rhamnaceae.

Ellipsoidal or spheroidal. External, dark red, slightly lustrous and wrinkled. Base dented, with a short fruit stalk. Exocarp thin, mesocarp brownish-yellow or pale brown, fleshy, soft, sugary and oily. Seed fusiform, acute at the both ends. Odor, slightly aromatic; taste, sweet.

Hainan, Yunnan, Fujian provinces and Taiwan.Traditional
Eliminate foreign matters, wash clean, dry in the sun. Cut or remove the seed before use.

Sweet; warm. Enter spleen, stomach and heart channels. Tonify zhongjiao and qi, nourish blood and calm the mind.

Usage and dosage 6-15 g, decoction for oral use.
