Bridging Traditional Chinese Medicine Across Borders:
Professor Chen Xiuhua’s Visit to Huachiew TCM Clinic, Thailand
From July 18–22, 2025, Huachiew Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic had the great honor of welcoming Professor Chen Xiuhua (陈秀华教授), a renowned expert in complex acupuncture cases and Director of the Center for Classical TCM Therapy, along with Associate Chief Nurse Lin Lijun, Deputy Head of the Nursing Department from the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China.
Their visit, generously supported by Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, aimed to share specialized knowledge and practical techniques in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and TCM-based nursing with Thai medical professionals.
Mr. Aran Iamsuree, Director of Huachiew TCM Clinic, along with the executive team, warmly received the delegation. On this occasion, the Director presented Professor Chen with a biographical book of “Mr. Hiak Huang Iam”, former President of Poh Teck Tung Foundation (terms 1, 2, and 3), in recognition of his pioneering contributions to TCM development in Thailand. In return, Professor Chen gifted the clinic with one of her self-authored and edited TCM acupuncture textbooks, providing an invaluable learning resource for the next generation of Chinese medicine practitioners in Thailand.
During her stay, Professor Chen conducted knowledge-sharing sessions with Huachiew’s team of Chinese medicine doctors at the clinic's main branch in Bangkok. The focus of her lecture was on the “Lingnan Chen's Acupuncture”, a distinctive and profound approach to treating complex medical conditions.
She also offered consultations and clinical guidance to senior practitioners including:

Patients and staff alike showed great interest in her expertise, with many eagerly awaiting professional insights and recommendations from one of the top specialists in the field.
Professor Chen Xiuhua is a direct inheritor of the Chen's Acupuncture and serves as the Director of the TCM Therapy Center at the Guangdong Provincial TCM Hospital. She skillfully integrates traditional Chinese wisdom with deep clinical specialization, offering Thai citizens a rare opportunity to experience authentic Chinese medicine. Her visit marks a significant step toward strengthening academic and professional ties between the two countries and advancing the standard of TCM practice in Thailand to an international level.
Meanwhile, Associate Chief Nurse Lin Lijun led a session to exchange insights on TCM-based nursing practices in China. She highlighted the core philosophies, professional roles, patient evaluation methods, and nursing protocols specific to TCM hospitals. Her talk was presented to nursing staff, assistants, and nurses from various institutions nationwide.
The seminar was held at the Huachiew Chalermprakiet University – Yotse Campus and was supported by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. The session attracted over 70 participants, joining both onsite and online.
In addition to the academic activities, both guests toured various departments of the Huachiew TCM Clinic, exchanging insights into service delivery systems and TCM operations in Thailand and China. They also extended their congratulatory message in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Huachiew TCM Clinic.
